| Musica Lozzo is a summer music festival that combines the cultural and scenic delights of Italy with serious professional training for string players. The festival will take place from July 25th to August 13th in the charming village of Lozzo Atestino, in the province of Padova, about one hour southwest of Venice. Lozzo is located in the Colli Euganea (Euganian Hills), a national park noted for its scenic vineyards, beautiful churches, and seventeenth century villas. Housing for students is available at Agriturismo Il Feudo, a beautiful bed and breakfast located on a working vineyard. A limited number of students will be accepted to study with renowned faculty including Jodi Levitz, Bettina Mussumeli, Robert Britton and Tanya Tomkins. The emphasis will be on individual instruction, practice technique, Alexander Technique, and chamber music. Students will additionally have the opportunity to work with pianist Bettina Bocchese, who will be available for rehearsals, lessons, and concerts. There will be four public concerts as well as master classes and informal performance possibilities during the three week course. Interested students should send an email with their name, age, instrument, current repertoire, and their goals for the summer to admin@musicalozzo.org. |
